I’m positive I have the best job on the planet, that is not something up for debate in my mind. Russell and Emily’s wedding day sums up the reason I am so secure in that line of thinking. They had the best day ever and I think everyone who was there, celebrated with us, cheered them on, danced with them in the street when the second line came by at the end of the night…everyone would agree!
One thing so crucial to a wedding day is the wedding party surrounding the bride and groom, and Russell and Emily’s crew made the day amazing. You could not dream up a more LOVED couple! I am a friend girl to my core, so I especially loved the special things Emily’s bridesmaids did for her. They gifted her the most incredible one of a kind veil that was so stunning. They also put together a scrapbook for her and each girl contributed a page that included a letter to her. Cue the tears. Those girls were everything that day!
Emily and her mom told the funniest story of the day she picked THE dress. The girls in the bridal shop had named it “Business in the front, party in the back” and were SO excited she picked it! It was classy, stunning, fun…basically it was Emily embodied in a dress!
Russell hand made these beautiful rosaries for Emily and her mom to carry on the wedding day. In case you missed that, HE HAND MADE THEM. I can’t imagine a more special “something blue”.
We did their first look at the Battle House Hotel in downtown Mobile, it was the perfect backdrop for this moment to unfold. There was a short moment before Emily tapped Russell on the shoulder where she paused (middle picture below) and I wondered if she was waiting on me. My second shooter Ali was capturing her from the side (middle right below) and she had stopped because she was crying, overwhelmed by the moment. Everyone was crying by the time it was over!
Bienville Square still had the Christmas Tree up and it was the PERFECT spot for group portraits.
Remember the stunning veil I mentioned before? It was unbelievable.
Big thanks to Ali for capturing these sweet last moments with Emily and her dad before the ceremony!
This crew was ready to celebrate so we opted for a “one big happy family” group picture and it is one of my favorites of all time!
I love when couples prioritize their portraits! Ali and I stole a few minutes with Russell and Emily during the reception for some gorgeousness.
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Powell, everyone!
