This Mobile, Alabama photographer had a truly fantastic time with Gus and Emily at their engagement session.

I met this coupe by ways of family connection, and boy, am I glad I did. Not only are Gus and Emily some of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, but they are so in love.

You can tell so much about their hearts even just from these photos in Washington Square Park in downtown Mobile. Gus is a youth minister, and he is perfect for the role. Some of my friends are youth ministers, and it’s a job for a certain type of person. Gus is certainly that person, especially with Emily in his corner. Emily is an architect, and she’s got a quiet but beautiful knowledge about her, which makes her the perfect match for Gus.

The three of us had a great time together, constantly laughing. I was delighted to find that their chemistry is so natural and fun.

But what I really like about them is that they are so gung ho with one another. They have a beautiful when-you-know-you-know love story because though they met years ago and didn’t get together, when they reconnected, everything was just right. They got engaged in the spring of 2021 and had their wedding the following August.

Washington Square Park is one of my favorite spots in Mobile, and you can see another session in this same park here. Gus and Emily just made this spot even more wonderful by bringing their love and humor here. They made the heart of this Mobile, Alabama photographer so, so full!
