The Venue at Dawes Wedding - Mobile Alabama

Josh and Deanna had their wedding at The Venue at Dawes in Mobile Alabama and it was a wonderful day! They kept the bridal party small and intimate and their day was full of personal touches that made their wedding day perfect for them.

We shot their engagement session back in September at Springhill College on a beautiful Sunday morning! I enjoyed getting to know Josh that day and seeing how sweet he is to Deanna.

They had such a calm and smooth day, that isn’t always true on a wedding day! When we arrived the girls were all hanging out in the bridal suite and Deanna was as cool as a cucumber. I enjoyed photographing her gorgeous details! Then the sun finally started peaking through the clouds and made for some really beautiful afternoon pictures. The weather on a wedding day in Mobile, Alabama can be hard to predict but it couldn’t have been better last weekend!

A few things we loved about their day:

Josh’s “cake” table was FULL of five different kinds of cheesecakes! I am such an advocate for making your wedding day your own. Josh loves cheesecakes and Deanna’s sweet cousin made some of the most delicious cheesecakes I’ve ever had. I had the pecan pie cheesecake and it was out of this world good.
They had a fire pit fully decked out as a s’mores bar! The kids (and adults!) had the best time with this.
They ran through sparklers to their getaway vehicle, a 1966 Ford pickup truck! It was in mint condition and the coolest thing I’ve seen in a while. Make sure to scroll down and see it!
Their wedding favor was a jar of blueberry jelly, homemade by Deanna’s mom from the blueberries they grow on their blueberry farm. I have sweet memories of picking these blueberries in the summertime at their house and I loved they chose this to be the favors for the guests!

Josh and Deanna, it was a joy to be a part of your wedding day and to dance the night away with you! I am so happy for you!
