Derrick and Brittany’s wedding day was so incredibly special to be a part of from start to finish. It was a beautiful March day and the weather could not have been prettier! 

The Malaga Inn in downtown Mobile, AL was the perfect backdrop for Brittany and her bridesmaids to get ready. The staff there was so sweet to work with and the suite the girls were in was stunning! It oozed old southern elegance and that is my love language. 

Brittany had so many special details sprinkled in to her day, including a precious brooch that was attached to her bouquet before she walked down the aisle. Brittany’s sweet daughter Kylie played such an important role on their wedding day and I can’t fully communicate how special it was to be on the sidelines for it. 

The ceremony and reception took place at the amazing Five Rivers Delta in Spanish Fort, AL. I absolutely love shooting there and the perfect weather made it a dream day there! 

Derrick and Brittany stuck with tradition and waited until their ceremony to see each other, so we had fun hiding them and getting a lot of portraits done beforehand. They had the MOST fun wedding party ever and I had so much fun getting to know them. 

Their sunset ceremony was perfectly timed and basically what waterfront wedding dreams are made of. Their vows were genuine and all of the planning came down to those few intimate moments shared between them. They were so ready to say I do and make it official! 

Derrick is a marine and the neatest tradition was included following their ceremony. An arch of sabers awaited them as they walked back down the aisle. Each level of marine said something (I couldn’t quite make it out), Derrick and Brittany had to kiss, and they would swat her on the backside with their sabers. Everyone loved it! I had never seen anything like that before. 

I was able to steal a few minutes with the new family of three before the reception started and I wish I could properly communicate how much Derrick loves Kylie. I absolutely loved seeing their relationship in person that day. 

Their reception was beautiful and FUN! They had an amazing spread of food and desserts, we danced and sang, and celebrated this phenomenal couple. 

When it was time to say goodbye sent them off with a sea of bubbles and big hugs from everyone. A perfect ending to the perfect wedding day. Thank you to all of the vendors who made this day so wonderful to be a part of! And the biggest thank you to Derrick and Brittany, it was an honor to document your love story!
