This newborn session in Mobile, Alabama with the Comer family was a truly beautiful and timely way to capture new life. I was thrilled to be part of this day and welcome baby Comer into the world.

Parents Bryan and Megan and big sister Kathryn welcomed baby Alex into their home last fall while Hurricane Sally was brewing on the horizon. We originally planned for this day before we knew, and by this time Alex was already two weeks old. So the day after Hurricane Sally hit, I left my house with no power and ventured over to theirs! Luckily, they had a built-in generator so that they were able to get ready!

And I have to say, this newborn session was perfect for the emotions many were feeling after the hurricane. Celebrating new life in the midst of loss feels almost like poetry sometimes, so that’s exactly what we did. Bryan and Megan are amazing parents, and big sister Kathryn is really smitten. She could hardly wait for her turn to hold him!

Megan is a really talented attorney and a Disney travel agent! She recently started her own company (Magical Horizons Travel). She is currently helping us plan our Disney trip for next month, which cannot come soon enough!

The blue gown Alex is wearing in some of them was hand sewn by Megan’s mom. I love the Southern tradition of clothes! It makes me so thankful that I was born and raised in the South. I love having a front row seat to these classic traditions!

It was an honor to spend this day with the Comers. I hope to see much more of them very soon and see Alex firsthand as he grows up alongside Kathryn!
