I am finally sharing our maternity session at The Waters in Montgomery from last year! I am such a typical photographer and all of my personal pictures get put wayyyy on the back burner. Last Fall was so busy I’m honestly surprised I got them edited before we had her in November.
My very talented friend Ali Payne took these for us and I will genuinely treasure them forever. I had a vision in my head of how I wanted this session to look and she helped me create that down to the last detail. I wanted glowy sun, grass, flowers…all the things I love in a session. We rescheduled once because of rain and considering Ali lives out of town I got a little nervous we weren’t going to be able to pull it off.
Philip and I had a trip planned to Rosemary Beach with some friends for Labor Day weekend so Ali and I came up with the plan for us to leave Rosemary Beach and drive to Pike Road, AL, take the pictures, and then drive home. A casual 8 hours of driving instead of just the 3 home. Thankfully Philip recognized how much I wanted this to happen (advantages of being pregnant, y’all) and he agreed. I spent the entire weekend at the beach slathering sunscreen on all of us hoping we wouldn’t be burned for pictures.
The Waters in Pike Road is such a unique and beautiful place, with so much variety for sessions like this. Thankfully the weather was above and beyond what I had hoped for and as usual, Ali worked her magic on us! I am so appreciative for her time and work. I know to some maternity sessions might seem silly but celebrating such a fleeting time in life was important to me. Enjoy this little collection of our session at The Waters in Montgomery, some of my favorite pictures ever.
