This engagement session in Moss Point, Mississippi was the perfect way to honor the happy couple, Jesse and Shelby.
Let me talk about these two for a minute. Jesse and Shelby are two of the most classically Southern people I have ever met. I love everything about their dynamic, their playfulness with one another, their look together too. It is obvious that where they are from plays a huge part in who they are today. And I love that! I’m a strong believer in letting your roots show.
So I ventured across state lines for this session, and I met the couple at Presley’s Outing, Jesse’s family land. Presley’s Outing is a beautiful slate of land with public beaches and tons of stuff to do. You can check out everything they have to offer here! I definitely recommend it for an outdoors-loving couple.
For instance, just take note of how everything was blooming around them. From the blossoms for that ring shot to the satsumas hanging low for the perfect pop of color. I felt like we were on set somewhere all of this was planned. But this was actually just the perfectly-timed evening!
But not only is it just a beautiful landscape for couples to have pictures taken on; the land belongs to Jesse’s family. I think this is the most precious tribute to family. It reminded me of the days before my own wedding. Philip and I took our engagement pictures at my grandfather’s farm, and I’ve always loved that I decided to do that.
I love doing sessions outside! And while this was my first time meeting Jesse and Shelby in person, you just can’t beat that natural sunlight! If you’d like to see some of my favorite pictures from another woodsy shoot, check out this session here!
As our time together for this shoot wound down, we headed over to the lake at sunset, where you can see some of the most touching, precious photos on a little dock.
I loved everything about this day, and I cannot wait for Jesse and Shelby’s wedding!
