Magnolia Springs Engagement - Trevor and Katie

I went across the Mobile Bay for this Magnolia Springs photography session to celebrate Trevor and Katie’s engagement!

Trevor and Katie are the sweetest couple, just a genuine down-to-earth couple with a very genuine connection that made me want to give them both the tightest hugs.

The Interview

I need to know, how did you meet?
A mutual friend invited us separately to a small group through our church. We were friends for a while before we started dating.
What were the first things you remember noticing about each other?
Trevor: Her smile
Katie: His confidence
What did you do on your first date?
We went to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants and then went to see a movie.
When you did you know you wanted to spend forever together?
Katie: I don’t think I have a specific moment when I knew. For me, it was just realizing the millions of little things he did and all the ways he was consistently showing up for me. He constantly pursued me and still does. When I think about our future together, I have such a peace about it. He’s everything I’ve prayed for.
Trevor: We were on a trip with her family at the beach and we both got up early one morning to watch the sunrise. We just sat in the swing on the porch talking about our lives and our future and it was that moment I knew.
What’s your favorite thing to do together?
We love to go to the beach or spend the day on the boat. We also like to cook and hang out with our family and friends.
How did you propose? Proposal stories are my FAVORITE!
I asked him to make it a surprise for me and he did just that! He told me he made reservations at The Hope Farm (check it out here) for dinner at the end of my first week of school. He usually takes me out, or we do something special for the beginning of the school year, so I didn’t think too much about it. I was running a little late, but my roommate and best friend, Hannah, made sure my nails were painted! I was being so stubborn on not wanting to for time’s sake, but she made sure it happened! He picked me up and then told me he wanted to show me a house that he was thinking about renting to live in. When we got there, he took me all through the house and then finally into the kitchen. He went out to the garage and when I turned around, he had a baby Christmas tree in his hands. (This is special because one of our dreams is to own a Christmas tree farm together.) He said some very sweet things and then told me that he was actually buying the house and that we would plant this tree together at this house and watch it grow as we start our lives together. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! It was such a sweet moment that we were able to share together. We FaceTimed our family and friends right after and then celebrated with dinner at The Hope Farm. He made it so special for us. It was perfect!
You’re getting married! Describe your perfect wedding day in a few words.
When I think about our wedding day, what I hope to have is a peaceful joy-filled day celebrating with our family and friends. I pray that the weather is beautiful, and we are surrounded with the presence of God throughout every minute of the day.
Is there anything else that’s important I need to know about you as a couple? I’m all ears!
We both love to laugh and have fun! One of my favorite things about Trevor is how funny he is. He has the best sense of humor! Being with our family and friends brings us so much joy, so we are excited for our wedding to bring together all of our favorite people! We are also very serious about marriage and what it means in the eyes of God. We have continually prayed over our future and asked God to bless it. Our hope is that others see Christ through us.
